About Marc Ross
Marc Ross is a social entrepreneur, a thought leader, an attorney, a Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability champion, and a music junkie. After a traditional law career that included litigation work for a state environmental agency, a large firm, and in-house environmental counsel at one of the largest companies in the world, in 2002, Marc founded a national environmental advocacy organization. Rock the Earth protects and defends the planet through partnerships with musical artists and their fans. Working with artists as diverse at Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Ozzy Osbourne, as large as Foo Fighters and the Dave Matthews Band, as historic as Bonnie Raitt and the Allman Brothers Band, Rock the Earth remains active in both the protection of the planet and using music to inspire action.  In 2016, Marc returned to the private sector by creating Needle Consultants, LLC, with the goal of helping conscious businesses to create change. This has led to him being a thought leader on CSR, culture, purpose and sustainability in the cannabis industry. Marc is also the former Director of Community Outreach for Harvest, a vertically-integrated multi-state
cannabis company, where he was recruited to strategize, build and scale a national CSR program.

Over the course of his career, Marc has been a frequent speaker and panelist on the intersection of music, sustainability and activism, as well as Corporate Social Responsibility, Marc has led discussions, interviews, and panels at the South By Southwest Music Conference, the National Conference for Media Reform, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Summer Camp Music Festival, Arise Music Festival, Arcview/AspenHigh Summit, Cannabis World Congress & Business Expo, and the NoCo Hemp Expo. Some of those discussions have included live, on-stage interviews with Bob Weir, Bonnie Raitt, Michael Franti, Brett Dennen, Jerry Greenfield (Ben & Jerry’s), Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Warren Haynes, Wayne Coyne, the Head & the Heart, John Bell (Widespread Panic), Julia Butterfly Hill, Daryl Hannah, Pat Green, and many others.
